Esteemed Social Justice Friends and Partners:
We realize it has been a while since you last heard from the Social Justice Table; during our absence from the public light we have been creating the tools and infrastructure that will help us promote and support more effective collective organizing in this new political climate. The recent wave of directives targeting the immigrant community, the labor movement, healthcare, climate and environmental justice, the Muslim community, and more, has generated a lot of energy around social justice organizing and civic participation, and increased the need for collective and strategic social justice work.
The SJT has spent the past three years working to help shift our organizing culture towards a more collective model, and we would like to invite you to join our network. To that end, we are very excited to announce the launch of our brand new website, which we hope will help us meet immediate organizing needs, while strategically guiding our efforts in order to achieve greater collective impact.
Our website’s Blog will help us promote the collective voice or our movement, our Partners section will help us connect others to you – our partners -; a Calendar of Events will connect people to actions and other events promoting a progressive agenda; our Donation tab (under construction) will help us support specific initiatives; our Resources section will help us organize and share information on how to be more effective in our efforts.
Please help us create a more effective, collective, social justice movement by becoming an official SJT partner. In order to do so you’ll have to agree with our mission, vision, and core principles, and send us information about your organization and the area of work you are involved in (healthcare, immigration, labor issues, climate, etc.). Also, please send us information about your upcoming events (what, when, and where, plus a flyer and other relevant information) so that we can help promote through the calendar.
Together we can build a better, stronger social justice movement. We hope to see you soon!
